AI Systems Architect — Enterprise Intelligence (Aerospace)
About the Role
Monarch Space Systems seeks an AI Systems Architect to serve as the principal technical architect of the Aegis™ Enterprise Intelligence platform — the institution's governed, AI-enabled operational intelligence framework supporting aerospace and government programs. This role encompasses ProposalAI™ (capture acceleration), Integrated Mission Intelligence™ (IMI, secure customer transparency), and the underlying secure systems architecture. The candidate will define the technical architecture, data governance posture, and AI governance framework that governs all AI-enabled operations across space systems programs. Primary location is Cleveland, Ohio; hybrid may be considered subject to export control and program requirements.
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve the Aegis™ enterprise intelligence platform — including core knowledge management, workflow automation, and AI governance infrastructure
- Design and maintain ProposalAI™ capture acceleration modules — including RFP decomposition, compliance mapping, and technical narrative structuring
- Lead development of Integrated Mission Intelligence™ (IMI) — real-time performance visibility environment for federal customers and prime contractors
- Define AI governance frameworks including human-in-the-loop controls, audit logging, version control, and output review protocols
- Establish data architecture, security boundaries, and zero-trust access controls across all enterprise intelligence systems
- Ensure all AI-enabled systems comply with applicable ITAR/EAR, CUI, and federal data handling requirements for aerospace programs
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align AI capabilities with institutional strategy and customer requirements
- Partner with the Chief Enterprise Intelligence Officer on technology roadmap development and governance framework evolution
- Lead AI system performance monitoring, bias assessment, and continuous improvement processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Systems Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in AI/ML systems architecture, enterprise software, or advanced analytics
- Demonstrated experience designing governed AI systems with human-in-the-loop oversight
- Strong background in data security, zero-trust architecture, and role-based access control
- Understanding of federal data handling requirements including CUI, CMMC, and ITAR/EAR implications for AI systems in aerospace
- U.S. citizenship required; security clearance eligibility preferred

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI systems in aerospace, defense, or government contractor environments
- Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, RAG architectures, and enterprise AI governance frameworks
- Experience implementing AI audit logging, version control, and explainability mechanisms
- Background in proposal automation, knowledge management, or government program performance analytics for space systems
